| So here we are… Half way! |
Overall I think it’s been a really good start to the season, 2 wins, 3 podiums and 2 poles! Currently I’m lying 6th in the championship after running as high as 3rd after the wins at Thruxton. Croft was probably the worst round I’ve had for a long time but I’m currently preparing to bounce back at Snetterton.
Rockingham was an average round in comparison to the rest of the season so far, qualifying was OK but the very unpredictable conditions made it very tough for me. When it was dry I made good progress to the front of the field but I think a little inexperience let me down as the track got damp and my more experienced team mates slipped back through. This is definitely something I needed to fix.
Donington was a real turning point, we were quickest in both free practice sessions and that gave me great confidence for qualifying. Quali was one of the easiest, yet most stressful sessions I have ever done. After driving only 2 hot laps we were there sitting on pole with quite a big gap to second, my engineer and myself made the decision to sit in the pits and save our tyres while keeping a close eye on the times.
